Toastmasters or Speechcraft?
Is the fear of public speaking getting in the way of your success? You can conquer that fear, painlessly and enjoyably. How? By joining a Toastmasters Club or enrolling in a Toastmasters’ public speaking course, called Speechcraft.
Many people ask, which is better, Toastmasters or Speechcraft?
WHAT IS TOASTMASTERS?
Since 1924, Toastmasters has provided an effective, cost-efficient public speaking program that has helped people from all walks of life develop their confidence and become better communicators.
The Toastmasters Pathways Program is a self-paced program. At every meeting, you will perform different assignments which will help you develop your confidence and public speaking skills. You will introduce speakers, deliver prepared speeches, conduct the meeting, or one of many other roles.
Some new members can feel intimidated by experienced members, thinking that they will never reach their level of confidence and skills. But all experienced members were once nervous beginners. Like them, you will improve by speaking regularly and with the positive evaluations and fun Club environment, your speaking growth will be an enjoyable experience!
WHY DO MEMBERS CONTINUE WITH TOASTMASTERS?
A Toastmasters Club provides a “mutually supportive and positive learning environment” for members to continually develop their communication skills and maintain their confidence. This will naturally help you develop your leadership skills as well to make you more effective in your career and your community activities.
WHAT IS SPEECHCRAFT?
The Toastmasters’ Speechcraft program is an intensive six weeks program designed to help you develop your confidence and basic public speaking skills.
Most students have an urgent goal to develop their confidence and skills in the shortest amount of time. Whether you need to prepare for a job interview, a wedding speech, deliver a work presentation, or just develop your confidence, Speechcraft will help you achieve your goal.
Experienced Toastmasters present the fundamentals of public speaking in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Most students begin the course on the same level, inexperienced and nervous, but by the end of the course, you will marvel at the rapid progress in each other. Some students then join a Toastmasters Club, realising they can further develop their communication skills.
“The best investment you can make, is an investment in yourself. The more you learn, the more you’ll earn.”
~ Warren Buffet
